In-N-Out is a privately owned fast food chain restaurant located in West Coast of the United States. Unlike many other fast-food chain giants like McD or KFC, In N Out has never franchised, and plans to remain privately owned. In-N-Out logo has become an iconic image and symbol of California culture.
Despite being a fast food restaurant, In-N-Out has been touted as a healthy fast food restaurant. According to the company’s website, the restaurant mission is: “to give customers the freshest, highest quality foods you can buy and provide them with friendly service in a sparkling clean environment.” This mission has been kept ongoing since the first day of business.
The restaurant's marketing strategy is to show the quality of the food to the customer. One of the most apparent things is that the restaurant has its kitchen visible to the customers, allowing the customers to witness how their foods are processed and prepared. In addition, In-N-Out does not use freezers and everything is served fresh without the use of heat lamps or microwaves.
In N out serves mainly burgers. Its menu includes: hamburger, cheeseburger, double cheeseburger, fries, milk shake and soft drink. One of its best foods is the fries. The fries are unique, primarily because they are made from fresh whole potatoes, without any additional ingredients.
It might seem that In-N-Out serves only limited choices of menu. However, there are additional menus called the "Secret Menu" which is accessible on the company's website. Some of the most popular "Secret Menu" include:
- Animal Style (Burger or Fries): The fries are topped with 2 slices of melted cheese, spread, and grilled onions. The burgers are cooked using mustard, and are then topped with pickles, extra spread, and grilled onions.
- A "20x20": Twenty meat patties and twenty slices of cheese.
- Neapolitan Milkshake: Combination of chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry shakes.
